Lectures and Symposiums
Toyo Bunko offers the public a glimpse into the research conducted using the materials in its collection through various lectures and colloquiums, including the “Oriental Studies Lecture Series” held twice a year. The results of specialized research conducted by 13 research groups in 6 divisions are actively exchanged at occasional seminars and symposiums to which overseas researchers are invited.
Oriental Studies Lecture Series
This is the Toyo Bunko's traditional public lecture series that has been held since 1926. A series of lectures are held for researchers, students, and general audiences in two terms each year.
Seminars and Symposiums
As part of research and academic exchange on Asian studies, seminars organized by each research group and symposiums welcoming researchers from Japan and abroad on topics in their fields of expertise and the state of research on Asian studies overseas are held.

Toyo Bunko OPAC
This is Toyo Bunko’s new online public catalogue which is linked to the CiNii Books national catalogue maintained by the National Institute for Informatics (NII). We are now in the process of registering books in our collection, and when this process is completed all of the books in the Toyo Bunko collection, with the exception of traditional Chinese books (Kanseki) will be included. (The new catalogue is scheduled for completion in 2028). In the meantime, when searching for books users should use the new catalogue in combination with the existing online search system.
