Toyo Bunko  (Public Interest Corporation) has established the following privacy policy with regard to any information about individuals that it has collected, and pledges to follow the stipulations below so that all individuals can be reassured that personal information will be handled appropriately.

This privacy policy applies to the collection and use of all information about individuals that Toyo Bunko has collected.

1.The guidelines and privacy policy established by Toyo Bunko will respect all appropriate legal regulations regarding personal information including “Laws regarding the protection of personal information,” “Laws in administrative procedures concerning information that can lead to the identification of an individual,” and any other relevant laws and regulations. In the text below “personal information,” unless there is a specific exception mentioned, includes “information that can identify a specific individual.” In defining “personal information” we will follow the definitions provided in legal regulations.

2.Purpose for collecting personal information:

With the exceptions provided in legal regulations, we will provide individuals with information about the reasons for the collection of personal information. We collect personal information for the following reasons:

6.Inspection or correction of personal data in Toyo Bunko files

In cases where an individual or his/her representative requests to inspect, correct, add, delete or stop the use of their own data, we will follow the legal regulations.

7.Links to other websites

The Toyo Bunko website, as well as the mail magazine, sometimes have links to outside websites. Since Toyo Bunko does not control those websites, we cannot take any responsibility for the handling of data on outside websites. If individuals register on those websites, please check the website’s own privacy policy.

8.Changes in the privacy policy

Toyo Bunko reserves the right to make changes in this privacy policy. When changes are made, we will publicize those changes on our website. In cases where legal regulations require that we inform individuals whose data is concerned, we will follow appropriate legal regulations.
