前間 恭作 MAEMA Kyosaku(1868-1941)
Korean Language Scholar.
Born in Izuhara town,Tushima island (Nagasaki Prefecture). In 1894, He worked as an embassy clerk of Korean consular. Later, He became Official interpreter of The Governement-General of Korea.
From when he had worked in Korea, he collected Korean old classic books.
His writings 『在山楼蒐書録』『古鮮冊譜』etc.
In 1924,1942.He and his bereaved donated his korean collection to Toyo Bunko.
