藤田 豊八 FUJITA Toyohachi(1869-1929) Biography
Asian History Scholar.
Born in Tokushima Prefecture. In 1926,he worked as Professor of Tokyo University.
In 1928, Professor of Taihoku Imperial University (National Taiwan University) .
He studied history of East-West transportation, and south asian naval history.
His Pen name 剣峰(peak of sword).
His writings 『東西交渉史の研究(An Investigation of the History of East and West Relations)』『剣峰遺草(Posthumous manuscripts of Fujita Toyohachi, aka Kenpo)』etc.
In 1930,his bereaved donated his 1,700 Chinese classic books to Toyo Bunko.
